Show Team

At Old Orchard Farm, showing is about teamwork, growth, and community. We offer opportunities for riders of all levels to gain experience in the show ring, from first-time competitors to seasoned Silver Circuit riders. Each year, we are proud to field one of the largest teams on the Ontario Silver West Circuit at Angelstone Tournaments, with 20–30 horses and riders representing OOF each season.

Tiers of Showing at OOF

We’ve built a structured pathway to ensure every rider can enjoy competition at a level that’s right for them:

1. In-House Fun Shows
Open to all lesson registrants, these casual events provide a fun and friendly introduction to showing. Riders compete in a familiar setting, build confidence, and celebrate milestones with barn friends.

2. Old Orchard Farm Schooling Show Series
A step up in formality, our on-site schooling show series gives riders the chance to test their skills in a competitive yet supportive environment. These shows are open to the public, which means riders experience a wider variety of competition while still enjoying the comfort of showing at their home barn. Schooling shows, like our in-house fun shows, are single-day events.

3. Silver West Circuit Team
Our flagship competition program. Each season, 20–30 horses and riders represent OOF at Angelstone Tournaments on the Ontario Silver West Circuit. Eligibility for this level requires riders to demonstrate consistent commitment to their riding as well as a high standard of horse care. At this level, riders focus on refining their skills in a more competitive environment, with goals ranging from consistent, polished rounds to year-end championships. Unlike schooling and in-house shows, the Silver Circuit is a stabled event. Horses typically ship in midweek and remain on-site until the conclusion of the show on Sunday. In addition to our regular Silver West schedule, we also attend one optional crossover show at Caledon Equestrian Park each season, giving riders another valuable experience at a top venue.

4. Gold Level “Crossover” Shows
NEW – Each season, OOF may attend up to 2 optional Gold level crossover shows, as the schedule allows, to give riders experience at a higher level or competition and/or at another venue.

A Supportive Team Environment

With large teams at each level, there’s always someone ready to cheer from the sidelines, lend a hand in the warm-up ring, or celebrate a ribbon back at the stalls. Our riders support one another through every step of the show experience, creating an atmosphere where teamwork, sportsmanship, and friendship are just as important as competition results.

Professional Coaching

Our coaches provide ringside guidance, course strategy, and encouragement to help every rider perform at their best.

The Angelstone Experience

We are fortunate to call Angelstone Tournaments our home showground. The facility’s proximity, top-class rings and jumps, competitive divisions, and welcoming atmosphere make it the perfect place for riders to challenge themselves and showcase their hard work.

Equine Partnerships

Old Orchard Farm often has horses available for show part board or lease, giving riders valuable opportunities to gain experience in competition. That said, we cannot always guarantee that a suitable mount will be available in-barn. Riders with long-term or specific competition goals should be prepared to lease or purchase their own horse, and our team is happy to help guide families through this process to find the right match.
